Tagul: Capstone

There's Light at the End of the Tunnel

I have my capstone presentation tonight at 5:30-7:30 if anyone's interested!  Bag of Nails in Westerville, 3rd floor....  I have incorporated a little technology on my poster.  I couldn't help myself...  all these videos and new resources at my disposal is actually a lot of fun.  I used a word cloud on "Tagul" to emphasize the key words in my entire capstone research project.  I love how it came out.

I talk technology everyday with my colleagues and students...  I have some students in my class that have 7 or more glogs completed on Glogster!  These are subject related, too!  Although, one girl made a glog about her favorite country singer....  had pictures of him, videos of him, and of course music playing really loud!

Things couldn't be busier, but having a good time!

Prezi

Prezi is a great way to present information to an audience without losing their attention.  I felt there were a lot of options for presentations even with the "free" membership.  I'm interested to learn more of what you can do with this 2.0 Tool.  Here's a quick link to my Prezi

This is an attempt to raise the interest of my colleagues and try some technology!  I gave a presentation about a week and a half ago using a power point/slide show and shared all of these links with them, but did not do the presentation with Prezi.   I won't hesitate to use Prezi again in the future!

Tagul vs. Wordle

Well, like most firsts...  Someone always comes along and takes the idea of the inventor and adds more bells and whistles to impress lookers!  As is the case with this...  Wordle was cool, but Tagul is cooler!!  There are so many more custom features to Tagul...  I earned more brownie points with my scrapbooking wife and mother on this Mother's Day weekend!  I copied and pasted some Mother's Day poems off line into the text box on Tagul's website, picked a shape to fit my text into, chose a text font or two to combine, added a few more things while omitting the frequently used words.  Tagul also has a preview box so you can see what your changes did before you share your word cloud.  So, in my opinion Tagul is head and shoulders above Wordle, but I still like the name "Wordle" better!
